Welcome Letter 2022
Welcome back for our fourth season!  Thank you for choosing to stay with us.  We welcome feedback as to what we can do to make your stay more enjoyable.  We have modified numerous aspects of the property as a direct result of guest feedback and will continue to do so.
Highland Lake Resort Essentials
Jun 1st-Aug 31st Office Hours:
Mon-Sun 9AM-8PM
Sept 1st-Oct 31st Office Hours:
Sun-Thur: 9AM-6PM &
Fri-Sat: 9AM-8PM
CLOSED DAILY 1PM-2PM (for lunch).
If you find anything in your room unsatisfactory please let the front desk know immediately to remedy the situation. Lastly, if you want to use paddles for boats before 9AM let the front desk know before 8pm the day before and we will leave them out for you.
Policies
Our 2022 policies can be viewed in their entirety on the link above and on our policy page.  Check in is 3pm and check out is 10am (after vacating at 10am, guests may use amenities until noon).  We do not allow pets (sorry), and smoking & vaping is allowed in one designated area only.  We ask guests to be quite and keep music & voices low after 9pm and before 8am.
Housekeeping
By 9AM please write on the OUTSIDE of the plastic laminate sheet the number of towels, coffees. It is located just outside your door on porchside.   Place dirty linens and trash outside your door.  Housekeepers will remove and leave fresh supplies outside your room. Our cleaners will only enter your rooms if you request and only if you are not in the room at the time.  If you need something after housekeepers have left please call the front desk.
Sparkling Clean
Body wash, shampoo and hand soaps are provided in the rooms. They are selected for gentle scents and a clean refreshing feel.  We are thrilled to have made this transition considering the thousands of plastic containers that will no longer be needed.
Books

Yes we love books!  The genre is mostly spiritual (all faiths), personal stories of transformation, and a smattering of other novels.
We know kindle is the future... but nothing beats a paper book in a comfy chair by a Maine lake. If any book interests you please take it home and pass it on to someone else when you are through.  We will replenish our stash annually.

Visitors Pass
All visitors are required to register at the front desk.  Visitor passes are available at $25 per person between the hours of 9:00 am - 8:00 pm.
Guests who wish to have visitors should reserve asap as there is a daily limit of 10 passes allowed to preserve the resort atmosphere for all our guest's enjoyment.
Designated Smoking Area
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property except the designated smoking area.  Please respect the health and wellbeing of other guests by honoring this policy. THANK YOU!
Children
This property is made for the wonder and delight of all ages and especially children.  However it is essential that children have adult supervision at all times as the waterfront, obstacle course, fire pits and other areas can present challenges for young ones.

Free On Demand Movies & Cable TV
You can choose from numerous channels as well as watch hundreds of ON DEMAND movies for FREE.  You can pause and fast forward films with your ONE remote. The apartment unit is different - that space has Netflix movies and local channels available but no cable stations.
Heat & Air Conditioning
We have wall or window mount a/c units in all rooms and heat regulation is controlled by a monitor on the walls.  The a/c units can be set to the "fan" with no cooling feature for white noise, or "cool" for constant cold air or "econo" for maintaining constant temperature but turning offi when temp is reached.  Please don't leave a/c on with windows open. Thank you!

Keurig Coffee Makers
For those needing more information regarding the use of our Keurig Coffee Makers, you will find that in the above link.  We supply a decaf, two regular and one variety pod.  We also offer black tea bags.

Sanitizers
We installed over 20 hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the property. There are also a half dozen buckets with commercial grade cleaners and rags which we replenish every morning for cleaning amenities before and after use.

Bring your Own Boat
We have a boat launch and docks but you must call and reserve your spot. Please bring your own fenders (bumpers).  Trailers can be left in a lot adjacent to the boat launch.  Boats must be inspected for milfoil and invasive species.  Those needing to charge boat batteries overnight may do so for $20 a day. The State of ME asks boaters to purchase and display a $35 "Preserve Maine Waters" sticker from a Town Hall in ME, online or at Uncle Lunkers in Bridgton.
Swimming
Just remember children 12 and under must  have adult supervision on the property, especially near the water. There is NO LIFEGUARD on duty.  Contact the office for complimentary flotation devices and beach towels (please don't use bath towels) .  Just return the beach towels to the office after you check out.
Boating
We have 2 canoes, 5 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, 1 row boat, 1 pedal boat. Simply call the office to sign up for 90 min. and we will leave sanitized paddles and life jackets out by the front office.  Guests can use multiple boats in a day and extend use if others aren't waiting. PLEASE return paddles and jackets to the front desk after use.

Fishing
We have fishing poles for guests.  Cast off from our shores or take one of our complimentary boats to check your luck around five mile long Highland Lake. 1/4 mile away Unc'l Lunkers sells bait.  For info on purchasing a license (daily, weekly and more) visit the Maine.gov website
Obstacle Course
A work in progress! We are currently building a fenced in obstacle course area and have 5 obstacles for 2021.  PLEASE Children 12 and under must have adult supervision at all times on the property. We will add obstacles each year until it is teaming with art and activities.
Biking
Please contact the front desk if you would like a bike lock.  Sanitize before and after and leave by garage when through (so we can sanitize also).  Grab a bike, helmet, bike lock and head downtown to check out shops or go for a hike.  Guests of all sizes & skills use the bikes so please practice by driving around the parking area to ensure the bike is in sound working order before departure.

Labyrinth
For over 4,000 years old these have been used as a walking meditation.  There are no rules on how to use.  One suggestion is before entering to consider a contemplative question, prayer, or favorite image to hold in your mind and just follow the path. Upon reaching the center you may pause a few moments before unwinding your way back out.
Fire Pit Areas
We understand guests have met at Highland campfires and forged friendships that have lasted over a decade.  Those days are on hold. We added 3 additional pits for 2021 bringing the total to 7 fire pits on site. We sell fire wood & starter bundles for $5 bundle at front desk.  Firewood from Maine is allowed but no out of State wood is permitted.
Lawn Games
We offer corn hole, bocce ball, croquet, swings, badminton, frisbees and more.  If you have any requests for lawn games please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.  We rotate games on the lawn so we may even have what you desire in our garage.

Picnic Areas &
Charcoal Grills

Due to covid and the growing demand for more on site meals we added two additional charcoal grills in 2021 for a total of four charcoal grills.  We have wire brushes and barrels near each grill.
YOGA with ROSE
Yoga with Rose and other offerings now available at Salmon Point, just a couple miles away in Bridgton. You can find out more by visiting the website: The Nest
