Winter Season, 2011- 2012

For the first time in 14 years, we’ve closed most of the buildings at the Highland Lake Resort for the winter, starting in November. The additional cost of $1.00 more per gallon for oil this year means we’d have to increase our winter business by almost 30% to recover the utility costs. Is it possible to do? Perhaps. Are we willing to take the risk that this winter will beat the odds and have great snowfall on the weekdays with safe and easy traveling on the weekends? Nope.

 So… are we going to close this winter? Well… not exactly. We will still have the “Garden Suite” in the Spa Building which will remain open for the season.
