FISHING
When it comes to fishing, what better than being within a half-hour of dozens and dozens of lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams? Highland Lake, itself, is home to large- and small-mouth bass, brown trout, lake trout (touge), white and yellow perch, hornpout, and pickerel. Like any good Maine Fishing Lodge, we have boats and canoes available. Forget your rod? We have several available for your use. And short-term fishing licenses are available right downtown!
If you're looking for "bigger fish to fry" on your Maine Fishing Trip , nearby Long Lake and Sebago Lake enjoy land-locked salmon among other desirable fish. And only one hour away is the City of Portland and ocean-going fishing vessels ready to take your charter.
Winter, of course, brings you the fun and challenge of Bridgton Ice Fishing right out your back door! An ice auger, a rod or tip-up, and a bit of bait (available nearby) can have you pulling in the big ones! Or try your luck at one of the other surrounding lakes or ponds. After all, there are over 70 within a 15 mile radius of the Resort!
And, to make sure you give it your best shot, you should consider working with our Bridgton Maine Fishing Guide, Andy Raio's Registered Maine Guide Service. Andy can help with finding the best locations, deciding which bait and/or lures to use, and can even take you out in his bass boat to get you right to where they're biting!
ICE FISHING SEASON IS IN FULL SWING RIGHT NOW, AND THE FISH ARE BITING!!!

HUNTING
The Bridgton Lakes Region is well known as a great place for those looking to hunt. From our "wicked fancy" Bridgton ME Hunting Lodge, hunters can quickly get to many remote places where game is abundant, while still being near to "civilization". In addition, Bridgton Maine Hunting Guide, Andy Raio's Registered Maine Guide Service", is available to help you find the best locations, learn how to track, and generally assist you in your hunting. Looking for a true Bridgton Hunting Trip Experience? Take a whole week off during the season! The Highland Lake Resort has housekeeping units available to help you save money and to act as a "base camp".
